Treatment capabilities
When your diagnosis is confirmed, your physician will explain the different
treatment options available. Together, you will arrive at a treatment plan that
meets the needs of your particular diagnosis and your personal goals. We offer
a broad range of cancer-fighting treatments, including:
Surgery
Usually performed when the cancer is contained to a specific area or as part
of a combined treatment plan.
Medical treatments
May involve the use of special cancer-fighting drugs, called chemotherapy and
immunotherapy.
Outpatient oncology services
Includes chemotherapy, blood transfusion and other infusion therapies available
in the outpatient oncology clinic.
Radiation therapy
Used to reduce or eliminate tumors located in a specific area. Radiation therapy
is usually necessary on a daily basis for several weeks.
Biological response modification therapy
Known as immuno-therapy, biological response modifiers are either man-made or
natural substances which assist the body’s own immune system in eliminating
or inhibiting cancer cell growth. Immuno-therapy also repairs normal cells damaged
by radiation or chemotherapy.
Pain management
The goal of pain management is to assist you with optimal pain control through
the use of medications and additional therapies, allowing you to maintain maximum
comfort and functioning. Consultation with an interdisciplinary pain team is
available at the request of the patient and physician for assistance with pain
management.
